This work is my response to how our nation is treating asylum seekers, DACA young people, immigrants, indigenous people, people of color, people who identify as LGBTQ+, people who are poor, people who are disabled, people who are women, people of faith other than the “accepted” one — all marginalized people and disenfranchised people whose journeys are different and misunderstood. The “pulled warp” technique creates a 3-dimensional tapestry that raises the “speed bumps” off the surface of the work.
