A reinterpretation of foundational creation myths, Eve is reimagined as the Snake Godess, a mother goddess representation. The snake as seen in her hand — and in the Garden of Eden — is often interpreted as a phallis. Eve, or Chava in Hebrew, means LIFE. She is the Mother Goddess. Shisha embroidery around mirrors form the moon -- a common woman's symbol -- and the fruit and leaves on the Tree of Knowledge. The figures and serpent are beaded.

Shibori, indigo, shisha, beading, glass, cotton, embroidery floss. 24x20 inches. 2015
